2. Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)

IaaS is the lowest and basic level of cloud solution and refers to cloud-based computing infrastructure as a fully-outsourced service. This involves pre-installed and configured hardware or software through a virtualized interface. With IaaS, you rent IT infrastructure—servers and virtual machines (VMs), storage, networks, operating systems—from a cloud service provider on a pay-as-you-go basis. IaaS helps you save money - expense and complexity of buying and managing your own physical servers and other datacenter infrastructure. You will only need to rent a particular resource as long as you need it as each resource is offered as a separate service component. The cloud computing service provider manages the infrastructure, while you purchase, install, configure and manage your own software—operating systems, middleware and applications.

3. Platform as a Service (PaaS)

PaaS refers to cloud computing services that gives an on-demand environment for developing, testing, delivering and managing software applications. PaaS makes it easy for developers to develop, run, and manage applications without having to get caught up in servers, storage, network, code, infrastructure needed for development. PaaS can be pay-as-you-go basis as you can get resources from cloud service provider and access them over a secure Internet connection. PaaS supports complete web application lifecycle: building, testing, deploying, managing and updating.

PaaS is much more than IaaS. PaaS not only includes infrastructure—servers, storage and networking—but also also includes middleware, development tools, business intelligence (BI) services, database management systems and more.
